How area conversion works
The converter changes your value into square meters first, then into the unit you chose, using exact conversion factors. Area units are squared, so you cannot simply multiply by the length factor: one meter is 3.28084 feet, but one square meter is 3.28084 × 3.28084 = 10.7639 square feet.
Example: a 2,500 square foot house in square meters is 2,500 × 0.09290304 = 232.26 m².
