About FreeSmartTools
FreeSmartTools offers free, fast, private online tools that run in your browser. We build simple utilities for everyday tasks such as counting words, converting units, formatting data and calculating loans. Our goal is useful tools with no sign-up and no clutter.
What you can do here
Our growing library covers four areas, and each tool has its own page with a short guide on how to use it:
- Text tools: count words and characters, change text case, remove duplicate lines or generate URL slugs, for example with the Word Counter.
- Developer tools: format JSON, encode Base64, test regular expressions or generate secure passwords, for example with the JSON Formatter.
- Calculators: work out percentages, loan payments, interest, discounts or BMI, for example with the Percentage Calculator.
- Converters: convert length, weight, temperature, speed, area and more, for example with the Length Converter.

Accuracy and quality
We test our tools and use standard formulas and conversion factors. Calculators give estimates for general information only and are not financial, legal or medical advice. If you notice a mistake or have an idea for a new tool, we would like to hear from you.
How the site is funded
